"We’re challenging the status quo. We’re challenging the idea that commerce of any kind is of higher value than human (and -gasp- non-human) life.
We are saying, en masse, that this culture does not represent our values as people. It manifests nothing but repression and destruction, when we as individuals value life, love, family, charity, generosity, laughter, and kindness.
We are declaring, even though many of us don’t even realize it, that we do not want the world as it is being given to us. We want to remake the world according to our values, not according to an archaic market structure.
Finally, we are declaring that not only is the old model incapable of dealing with the future, but that it is invalid in our minds now. We are throwing out all of the dusty old maps and atlases. We are making the world anew, and we have no fear of weathered kings.
A throne is just a chair. The man who sits upon it only has that power which we grant him.
