fromstarstostarfish asked: Is the potluck at Zilker for anyone and everyone? If it is, any specifics on what to bring? I've been wanting to get way more active in the Occupy movement and the recent eviction has only fed that fire.

To the People of Austin, of Texas, and the world:
While I cannot speak for anyone but myself, I would like to address you all as an individual active in Occupy Austin.  This Friday night past, the Occupy Austin protest encampment was forcibly evicted from city hall by brigades of police who violently snatched at the crowd, arresting an ACLU observer who was reading them the law, a fifty eight year old epileptic woman who they knocked to the...

Militant March in Austin Today
Wear black, be anonymous, and join us at the pedestrian bridge over Ceaser Chavez, just east of Lamar at 4pm.  We’re going to make the obvious connection between the police and the police state, and how if you don’t want the latter, you must eradicate the former.  Remember, empire exists on repression at home and conquest abroad. We’ll make our way to the capitol building for...

Calling for a "Militant March" in Austin, TX
February third is a national day of action against the NDAA.  We are asking for people to stand in solidarity against not only military arrest, not only indefinite detention, but the heavy handed brutality of all law enforcement, from New York to Oakland. The meetup point will be announced Sometime in the 24 hours preceding the march.  We are not asking that anyone come and destroy anything, yet...

ofthevastexpanse: I know voting does not go to the root of fixing the problems we face and in the grand picture of the travesties we face voting has done nearly nothing. Not voting, alone, has done exactly nothing and voting does not stop you from doing outside activism and resistance. Voting validates the process.  It validates the selection of whoever wins.  It validates the idea that there...

akagoldfish: Anon Fanfiction: NDAA Passed to “Deal with” Occupy Unless someone can independently verify this email, I’m calling bullshit. This doesn’t read like something a professional intelligence analyst would write. But it does read exactly like what a 15-yearold kid in a Guy Fawkes… Among some of the other emails are details about Occupy Austin, some accurate, some not.  As someone...

Hacked Emails show interest in DGR Austin →
Anonymous hacked private intel firm Stratfor and has been dumping their emails all over the net.  Apparently, they not only have been keeping tabs on Occupy Austin, but on DGR Austin as well, who they consider to be “eco terrorists” despite the clear demarcation of above ground activities.  Power concedes nothing without demand.  It never has, and never will.

Calling for a "Militant March" in Austin, TX
I’m trying to find out what the level of interest would be for a blacked out militant march on February 3rd for the day of action against NDAA.  Banners, black, and a pissed off tone declaring that we won’t stand for this shit.  Please reblog far and wide, and message me (growfoodraisehell if you are personally interested)

From an interview with Tim DeChristopher
TIM: Yeah. I went into this thinking, It’s worth sacrificing my freedom for this. TERRY: And you did it alone. It’s not like you had a movement behind you, or the support group that you have now. TIM: Right. But I feel like I did the opposite. I thought I was sacrificing my freedom, but instead I was grabbing onto my freedom and refusing to let go of it for the first time, you know? Finally...

Don’t deprive yourselves of food because of ethics, just seek out the farmers that truly care for their crops and herds and bees… or if you take veganism seriously you could just not eat it at all? i wouldn’t consider not eating honey to be “depriving yourself of food”. honey is at best...
